Chinese Star Jasmine Seeds – Ready To Take Flight

You may recall my puzzlement and excitement when the Chinese Star Jasmine produced seed pods a few months ago (for a recap, see here)

Although the plant has since been pruned back hard and the seed pods removed, a few seem to have escaped the pruning and are now ripe. The pods have turned brown, split open, and are releasing some of the prettiest seeds I’ve ever seen onto the winter wind. Continue reading

So Cold Even The Roses Have Pink Cheeks

We are now properly into Winter in Sydney, and although the day temperatures are still relatively mild, the overnight temperatures are dropping to under 10 degrees Celsius (50F)- where they should be at this time of year. For those of you in climates where it snows in Winter, that probably sounds quite balmly, but for me it feels like… Brrrrr.
